Stardate N.G.
Voyager discovers an alien relay network that allows them to pick up a distant Starfleet ship's signature in the far reaches of the Alpha Quadrant. They try to send messages, but have no luck, but they eventually realize that the alien technology will allow them to send the EMH through to the other ship. The Doctor transfers over and finds himself on the USS Prometheus, an experimental Starfleet ship... the entire crew has been killed and the ship commandeered by Romulans. The Holodoc activates the Prometheus' EMH, and the two of them work together to overthrow the Romulans. They two try to operate the ship, though not very well. Starfleet forces attack the Prometheus, thinking that it's still under the command of the Romulans, but soon the misunderstanding is cleared up, and our Holodoc transfers back to Voyager, not before telling Starfleet about Voyager's situation (assumed destroyed three years before), and assured that starfleet is going to mount a rescue mission.

Voyager is faced with the new Starfleet uniforms designed for DS9 with this first contact today, but the crew will keep their old colored one, obviously cutting cost production, certainly also to avoid the darker atmosphere of the Dominion war, something Voyager has nothing to do with.

History (The USS Voyager is officially found, families are announced by Starfleet that the crew is alive, although located in the Delta Quadrant at 60,000 LY from home and unreachable before decades. Voyager had been officially declared lost 14 months before. Doctor Leonard McCoy wrote a book called 'Leonard McCoy's Comparative alien physiognomy')/ astrometrics (Voyager has now entered Hirogen space. The Delta Quadrant and parts of Alpha, beta and gamma are filled with relays of a communications network left by an unknown alien species)/ Chakotay (he has a cousin in Ohio)/ The Doctor (he's sent through the relay to the Alpha quadrant to a Federation ship and can inform Starfleet on the status of Voyager and crew. He has had 2 lessons of piloting aboard Voyager, but for a shuttle and only in the holodeck)/ Paris (while the Doctor is away, he's in charge of Sickbay. He and Harry are trying to design a replacement holographic doctor, a vain project)
