The crew of the USS Voyager is unsettled as a secluded and conflicted Captain Janeway reflects on the decision she's made along the mission and the consequences those judgements have had for them all. But soon the team of the USS Voyager encounters two never before seen alien species - a nocturnal alien called the Void and its foe, the Malon - and knows that one will not survive without their intervention. Knowing that coming to their aid ma kes a detour through dark, desolate space necessary, the captain alone must once again determine her crew's fate.

holodeck (first appearance of Captain Proton, Tom is Captain Proton, Harry plays his yet unnammed sidekick and Seven Proton's secretary Constance Goodheart. Captain Proton's holonovel of the day is entitled Satan's robot conquers the world)/ Kim (he has composed a clarinet concerto called Echoes of the Void)/ Janeway (her first command was on the USS Billings. She's depressed, stays locked in her quarters for days reflecting about her decision of having destroyed the Caretaker and stranded all of them in the Delta Quadrant)/ astrometrics (Voyager has entered a 2500 LY space empty of any star with high level of theta radiation blocking light from distant stars, leaving the ship in complete darkness; this space is indeed a toxic dumping used by Malon. A vortex links both sides of the Void and cuts the travel by another 3 years before it's closed by Voyager to forbid Malon poisonning the Void space and their hidden species)/ Neelix (he has panick attacks)/ Torpedo (13 launched, a record for now, but then only 12 are left if none are built)
