Chakotay is marooned on an unknown planet where the two inhabiting alien life forms, the Vori and the Krayden, are attempting planet-wide genocide against each other. Chakotay is captured by one of the tribes and comes to sympathize with them and their battle for survival against a ferocious enemy.
