When Kes undergoes treatment in a bio-temporal chamber to extend her lifespan, her cells are left in a state of flux causing her to be out of temporal sync. She then travels back and forth through time, experiences the beginning and final phases of her Ocampan lifespan and gets a glimpse of the Voyager crew's future.

The only time we get to see a young Kes.

Kes (she now has long hair. Future : she's married with Tom Paris, has a daughter Linnis who will get married to Harry, is the grandmother of a boy Andrew. She died at the end of her 9 years long life)/ Neelix (Future : he's become security officer)/ Chakotay (Future : he's the Voyager's Captain after the death of Janeway)/ Tuvok (Future : he becomes commander, so we can assume he will be first officer after the death of Janeway)/ Torres (Future : she's dead on 2374 !) / Carey (Future : he's dead in 2374, losing 3 years only)/ Janeway (Future : she's dead during the Year of Hell in 2374)/ The Doctor (Future : he has many names in the future including Van Gogh and Mozart. He doesn't need his holo-emitter anymore)/ Paris (Future : the loss of B'Elanna has been a hard time to him, but he's comforted by Kes and finally becomes her husband, the father of her daughter Linnis and later the father in law of Harry!. He says he had a crush on Kes the first day of her arrival - you can see that in the sickbay of the Voyager, in Caretaker)
