The Starship Voyager encounters a quantum singularity and what appears to be another ship in jeopardy. In their attempt to rescue the vessel, the crew comes to realize that it is they who are trapped, and the race begins to free themselves before the ship is destroyed.

Voyager (The ship is 4 meters narrower than the 120 meters in diameter singularity, therefore Voyager is 116m wide. Cargo Bay 2, which has variable environmental controls, is transformed into a hydroponics lab on Kes advice and responsability. Security is relocated on deck 7 instead of deck 9 so that this deck can be shut down to limit power consumption. Replicators are rationned due to limited power available, but not holodeck who we're told are incompatible - how convenient and implausible!)/ Paris (He is assigned to the sickbay to train as a field medic. With its 2 semesters in biochimistry at the Academy, Tom Paris is the most qualified medical officer after the Doctor)/ The Doctor (He is programmed with the information of 2000 reference books and experience of 47 medical officers. He has no name)/ Torres (She had 4 disciplinary hearings and 1 suspension at the Academy, but was one of the most promising student ever. Professor Jackman said he would support any readmission application from her.)/ Seska (1st appearance, but in blue shirt)/ crew (the original transporter chief was killed during the transfer to the Delta Quadrant)
